Amanda started her dispatch career in 2018 and soon after experienced a critical incident that left her with PTSD and significant bouts of suicidal ideation. After a nearly career-ending suicide attempt, she returned to dispatch with a renewed passion for crisis intervention, going on to obtain numerous certifications as a Crisis/Hostage Negotiator and Crisis Intervention Team Member and now shares her story with others to encourage mental healthcare and suicide prevention among first responders.
